— VIA RESPONSABILIS —

Ethics & Recommendations

Chaos is power without form. The form you choose to give it reveals who you are. Practise with awareness, curiosity, and an ethics that won't cost you your humanity.

Total responsibility

Magic is intentional action. Every operation falls under your responsibility: observe the effects, accept the consequences, and learn without dumping the blame on entities, servitors or "fate".

Consent and freedom

Don't bend other people's will with magic. If you work on someone else, do it only with explicit consent, or work on yourself. Coercion erodes your integrity and creates karmic paradoxes.

Reversibility

Design every rite so it can be closed, cancelled or changed. Sigils, servitors and pacts should have an expiry date or a dissolution clause.

Primum non nocere

Chaos magick doesn't justify gratuitous harm. Cathartic cursing exists, but should be used as a symbolic emotional release — never as a tool of domination or blind revenge.

Empirical testability

Treat results as hypotheses. Take notes, compare against your diary, look for objective patterns. Blind faith is as dangerous as dogmatic skepticism.

Operative recommendations

  • 01.Start with simple, low-risk rites before touching evocations, pacts or work on third parties.
  • 02.Keep an accurate grimoire: date, intent, emotional state, method, later synchronicities, outcome.
  • 03.Don't practise under the influence of substances, heavy stress or lack of sleep: gnosis needs to be guided, not confused.
  • 04.Create a protected space: phone on silent, ritual closing symbols, an object that anchors you to daily life.
  • 05.After any intense operation, eat something salty, touch the ground or walk barefoot: bring the energy back into the body.
  • 06.Always seal the result with a phrase like: "This or something better, for the good of all and according to free will".

Psychological safety

Gnosis and altered states of consciousness can stir up hidden psychic material. If you have a history of trauma, dissociative disorders or psychosis, always pair magical practice with therapeutic support.

Don't use magic as the only answer to medical, legal, financial or relationship problems. It can be an amplifier, not a substitute for concrete action.

Set up an "emergency button": a gesture, a word or an object that interrupts any practice and brings you straight back to everyday calm.

Warning signs

If you notice one or more of these signs, pause your practice and talk to a mental health professional:

  • Obsessive fixation on a rite, an entity or a servitor.
  • Growing fear, hallucinations, or a constant feeling of being watched or persecuted.
  • Social isolation or breakdown of important relationships because of the practice.
  • Sleep, appetite or mood disturbances lasting more than a week.
  • A repeated urge to work magic to hurt, control or punish.
