Zircon

Zircon is a lustrous mineral, often transparent or with golden, pinkish, or blue hues. Primarily composed of zirconium silicate, it forms in igneous and metamorphic rocks, with significant deposits in Australia, Sri Lanka, and Madagascar. Historically, it was mistaken for diamond due to its brilliance and used in jewelry since ancient times. In the Middle Ages, it was believed to ward off nightmares and promote wisdom.
