Carnelian

Carnelian, also known as Cornelian, is a variety of chalcedony ranging from deep orange to brick-red, often with white streaks or veins. Its vibrant hue comes from iron oxides in its mineral composition (SiO2). Historically, it has been mined in India, Brazil, and ancient Egypt, where it was used as a protective amulet and symbol of eternal life, linked to the goddess Isis. The Romans carved it into seals and rings, believing it enhanced authority.
